Care for the flock

Dear Pastors, It’s with joy that I write to you, as I am inspired to contact you as we see the Day approaching. Also, it is with serious concern that I am writing this to you. I want you to know that the grace of God on your life is treasured and appreciated. You carry a mandate from God through Christ that must be delivered, and by God you shall. “Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly – not for what you will......

Check your gauge

Last month while driving to work, my car started to make some strange noises when I pressed the accelerator. In fact it was struggling to stay in second gear then I noticed on my dashboard that the oil light was on. The oil light had been on for some days but I ignored it. I anxiously prayed that my car wouldn’t break down before I had a chance to park it in a safe and convenient place. Mercifully it didn’t break down and I parked it up safely. I said to myself......

Are You Plugged In?

Have you ever noticed that if you plug in any electric device into an electric socket, you need to turn it on? In order for the device to work, it must be turned on both at the electric socket and by the appliance. So here’s a question for you. Are you in a church, ministry or working for an organisation and you’re not tuned into their values? Sad to say there are many people just going through the motions. They go to church or work, but ask them about their organisation’s principles......

The Race

It’s easy to get bogged down with things that we keep getting wrong. Whether it is those conversations we keep getting sucked in to at work, laughing along with those inappropriate jokes. It might be chickening out of speaking out against something you know to be wrong, or speaking up for something you know is right. It might be eating more than we should, spending too long on that website, or watching what we know we should not. It might be saying yes when we should say no, or… I could go......

Specks and Planks

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly......

The Five Love Languages

Since writing about love each month I thank God for his revelations and understandings. This year in my church, has been declared the year open doors and our Pastor has been preaching about the importance of being open to the opportunities that God has set before us. She has preached about having an open mind. Now when I write my articles I never claim to have all the answers, but I make sure that I draw from other vessels on the topic of love. God’s word is the foundation of love, but......

Faithful, Are You?

If I were to ask your Pastor, your boss, your spouse, the brothers in your assembly or even your work colleagues about you, what would they says? The recent death of Mohammed Ali has prompted me to ask myself about how people are seeing me and what they are seeing in me. Ali will be remembered for being one of, if not, the greatest boxer of all time. But today how are people seeing you. Whether you like it or not, people are watching you, especially when you least expect it. And......

Are You Surviving or Thriving?

In the message this month, it is my prayer that you move from being a survivor to a flourishing soul. To survive means to exist after dangerous venture. This is like five friends who were shipwrecked on an island without hope of return to their families. They escaped the danger of being drowned in the sea but now have to SURVIVE (exist) on the island without food or decent water apart from sea water. Beloved, many in this day and age are selling their convictions, values and integrity of heart to survive.......

What's Mine Is Mine

Lessons from the Temptation of Jesus I have recently decided to read through the gospels again. I have been advised by many wise men and women of God that it is always a good thing to reacquaint oneself with the person of Jesus Christ, through these faithful accounts of His life. Early in the gospel of Matthew, we see the account where Jesus is tempted by Satan during His time in the wilderness. There are a few things I learnt from this passage that I would like to share with you. 1)......

To All The Fathers

To all those who are reading this article today, I just wanted to take the time out and start by giving all the glory and praise to the Father of fathers our Lord, who without His unending love where would I truly be. I’m dedicating my article to all the fathers around the world – we love and truly appreciate you. Usually I would begin my articles by telling you a story, or something I saw in the news, or a particular scripture that had got me thinking but I wanted this......
